Bandits in a fresh attack on Gurmana Community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state killed one person and abducted ten others, according to reports.
The Bandits struck on Friday evening at Karibo, Shekadna, Kokki, Sarkin Zama, Bakin Kogi (Lagbe), Maganda and other adjoining Villages all in Gurmana District.
Several villagers, including the District Head of Sarkin Zama sustained varying degrees of bullet wounds and are receiving medical attention in medical facilities at Kuta, the Shiroro Local Government Headquarters.
According to reports, the bandits, after attacking the villages went round setting ablaze houses and barns where yams and grains were stored.
Eyewitnesses said that the Bandits came in large numbers on motorcycles, shooting sporadically.
Comfirming the attack, the co-Convener Shiroro Youths Association, Yusuf Abubakar Kokki, decried the inability of security agents to protect the people.
Following the rising spate of banditry and criminality in the state, the Government announced that commercial motorcycles and tricycles are restricted from operating in Minna, the State capital, from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am daily, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
