$100 Million Marijuana Bust Baffles California Cops
US cops are puzzled after discovering $100 million worth of marijuana in a warehouse in Oak Hills, California, with no owner in sight.
Neighbors had reported a strong smell coming from the newly built building, leading cops to find the entire 4,800-square-foot warehouse filled with bags of marijuana.
The 3,000 bags, weighing 45 tons, took officers two days and 51 truckloads to move. However, the owner of the $100 million worth of marijuana remains unknown.
Detective Chris Bassett from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said investigators have no leads on who it belongs to.
Detective Bassett wondered where the marijuana was headed — whether to illegal dispensaries or across the U.S. While marijuana is legal in California for medicinal and recreational use, commercial cultivation requires a permit.
