11 Feared Dead, Scores Injured In Osun Accident

  • Eleven persons have been feared dead in a ghastly motor accident on Ibadan-Ife Expressway in Osun State.

No fewer than eleven persons have been feared dead in a ghastly motor accident on Ife-Gbongan-Ibadan Road in Osun State, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.

The accident, which was said to have occurred at midnight, left twenty-two passengers with severe injuries.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the accident at Gbongan junction, Opposite Ayedaade Local Government Secretariat, occurred after a commercial bus had a collision with a white Mazda E2000 commercial vehicle with registration number KJA392YA.

The accident was said to have occurred after the commercial bus lost control as a result of overspeeding.

It was further gathered that 16 injured victims were taken to Ariremako hospital in Gbongan while six injured victims were taken to Central Hospital in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the incident was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi.

The FRSC spokesperson disclosed further that the Ife rescue team of the Corps had taken the corpses to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile- Ife.

She, therefore, noted that the items recovered from the scene of the accident include seven phones, some luggage, and some amount of money.
