The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Tuesday disclosed that 225 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the country.
The agency made the disclosure in its update and situation report of the virulent infection for October 13.
According to the agency, one person died as a result of COVID-19 complications which brings the fatality toll to 1, 116.
By the same token, the total number of people who have now recovered from the disease stands at 52,006 as 63 persons were certified free from the disease and discharged on Tuesday.
Giving a lowdown of 225 cases recorded in 11 state, Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in Nigeria, had 165 new cases, followed by Abuja with 17, Rivers –13, Ogun – 12, Niger-8, Delta-4, Ondo-2 while 4 other states recorded one one case each.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 60,665.
