EKO HOT BLOG reports that gunmen have attacked Karfi ward in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State and reportedly killed 17 people.
Sources disclosed that the attackers invaded at least five communities under the Karfi ward on Friday, shooting sporadically at the helpless citizens of the areas and murdering 17 while scores were left with various degrees of wounds.

“They came around 11pm on Friday where they started shooting and looting, during which they killed about 17 people,” a source said.
A member representing the local government council at the Katsina State House of Assembly, Aminu Ibrahim Saidu, who confirmed the incident, said he visited the areas and sympathised with the families over the unfortunate incident.
There are increasing criminal activities recently in Katsina State, with the police authorities attributing it to the influx of bandits from Zamfara and Sokoto states due to the ongoing military operations in those states.
