No Negotiation With Bandits, Kaduna Govt Insists

  • Kaduna remains one of the most affected areas as far as banditry in the Northwest is concerned

The Kaduna State Government has insisted that no negotiation with bandits has been entered despite persistent attacks.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said that the bandits behind the attacks are from neighbouring states, hence there is no justification to negotiate with criminals who have nothing on the table.

He also explained that the state government in collaboration with the Federal Government is working assiduously to put more boots on the ground especially in the rural communities where most of the attacks occur.

Aruwan’s comments come shortly after he reported that no fewer than ten people have been killed after bandits attacked three villages in Zango Kataf and Chikun local government areas of the state.

According to Aruwan, the bandits attacked Kurmin Gandu village in Zango Kataf local government and killed five people.

They also burnt down ten houses, two motorcycles, and 50 bags of ginger, while some dry season farmers lost water pumping machines and other valuables around the Zango Urban general area.

Aruwan further explained that some survivors of the attack are recuperating in the hospital while search and rescue operations are in progress.
