Christians Tasked On Spiritual Growth At Holy Season Of Prayer and Fasting

Constant Fellowship with brethren especially in the place of prayer, fasting and studying the word have been identified as critical factors that could enhance one’s spiritual growth, hence the general call for Nigerians from all endeavors to guide their spiritual life jealously with a view to having access to supernatural abundant supply.

Founder and Spiritual Head, Christ Goshen City Assembly Worldwide, CGCAWW, Apostle Glory Helen Ikeleji made this known during a weekly Program to commemorate the forty days Holy period of Prayer and Fasting, with the theme ” Spiritual Growth” in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Apostle Helen explained that the place of fellowship with others is a gateway that helped to grow believers spiritually and at the same time, enhanced their capacity to know more of God.

Describing Spiritual Growth as the level of relationship and intimacy with God, she said, the more intimate one became with God, provides a platform for an encounter that would lead to divine coverage as well as wisdom, knowledge and total turnaround

According to Mrs.Helen Ikeleji, to grow spiritually entails identifying with people that have sound and standing Spiritual life.

“You need to understand that everything that affect your spiritual life affects your life, soul and destiny,

“If you understand that something is wrong with your spiritual life and you are no longer growing, then check the kind of friends you keep,

“As a child of God, you need to know that, you need to grow beyond the level that you are, and your spiritual life is very important,

“When you grow spiritually, the greatness in you begins to manifest, no matter the arrow that comes your way, will never come near you, people that are spiritual have divine protection, wisdom and knowledge”, she explained.

Helen Ikeleji charged Nigerians regardless of tribe or religion to intensify their understanding of the word of God, pointing out that for them to grow spiritually, they must increase their hunger and quest for him-saying David, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob displayed unquantified love for God and he manifested himself through them.

“At this holy period of fasting and praying, temptation will come your way, but the Lord will give you the capacity to say no and hold on to him,

“Jesus faced huge trial when he fasted forty days forty night but the Lord strengthened him to conquer, so shall it be to you at this period too”, she noted.

In the race for spiritual growth in contemporary days Christendom, the spiritual Mother identified three categories of people: the normal, canal and the spiritual people each with their classified features.

The CGCAWW Founder Said, the normal people were those who lived a normal life without the consciousness of good or bad, who do not understand the things of the spirit.

The Canal people, according to Mrs.Helen, “though they understand the things of the spirit, but their carnality do not allow them operate inline with the spirit, they operate in the flesh, cannot grow spiritually, they don’t understand the ways of God,

“To be Carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”, She said.

She further explained that the spiritual person is the one that understands the mind of God and lived by the direction of the Holy Spirit, adding that, he is like a tree planted by the Rivers of water; Psalm 1:1.

“The spiritual person is always connected to the things of the spirit, knows the mind of God,

“God is a spirit and they that worship the father must do that in spirit and in truth,

“A Spiritual life is a productive one that could lead to growth via meditation and studying the word day and night”, she maintained.
