We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Operations Officer
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Supervision Received: Operations Manager
Supervision Exercised: Nil
Employment Type: Full-time
General Responsibilities
This position exists to ensure:
- Product delivery schedule at depots and timely deliveries to customers and vendors with no stock loss;
- Timely collection and filing of signed waybills from truck drivers as evidence of products delivered;
- Management of stock with vendors and periodical reconciliation of products lifted and products received by customers.
Activities:
- Visit Depot to ascertain product situation and product schedule based on customer’s request.
- Dispatch trucks loaded with products to customers/vendors timely with all necessary documents based on request.
- Ensure that safe to load checks are carried out on every truck before loading products and that loading-trucks comply with safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Collate duly signed returned waybills from truck drivers and customers’ evidence of receipt of products and collaborate with accounts to ensure timely invoicing of products.
- Prepare reconciliation statement of products sent to customers/vendors and products received by them, noting quantity variance, daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Prepare accurate reports of activities of all trucks movements and deliveries to customers/vendors noting product loss quantities.
- Prepare reconciliation statement of product receipts/purchased and issues/sold in quantity periodically.
- Month-end checks, stocktaking from various customers /vendors.
- Ensure stocks management at the states/ with vendors.
- Ensure proper distribution of product based on customers’ request.
- Follow up with drivers/ field staff/engineers for smooth delivery of products to customers.
- Maintain a good filing system for all loading and receiving documents, including waybills and reports for ease of access and reconciliation.
- Any other job which may be assigned by management.
Accountabilities:
- A weekly report of liftings and deliveries to customers.
- Updated records and file of waybills signed by customers/drivers.
- Monthly reconciliation statement of products receipts and issues.
- Summary of products supplied and invoiced to customers.
- Updated truck movement register.
- An updated file of customers’ signed waybills.
- Stocktaking reports.
Qualifications
- National Diploma / First Degree or its equivalent in any discipline.
Experience:
- 2 years’ operations or logistics experience in an oil marketing company.
- White product depot experience working with transporters will be an advantage.
Skills:
- Excellent prioritization competency.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
- knowledge of the white products retail market in Nigeria.
- Highly organized, able to work independently.
- Analytical and willing to learn.
- Knowledge of white product depot operation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of petroleum products regulatory requirements.
- Micro-soft office suites (excel, word, PowerPoint, etc).
- Good oral and written communication.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Integrity.
- Strong inter-personal relationship.
- Drive to meet set targets.
- Entrepreneurial mind-set.
Context:
- The job requires a good understanding of Tanker drivers and their sharp practices, logistic issues, and optimization of trucks. A good relationship with Tanker drivers’ union to reduce conflict and minimize loss when lifting products.
Salary
N70,000 – N80,000 / Month
