  • The lawmaker revealed that plans are already in motion to install more traffic lights at other strategic points in Epe.
  • He also appealed to the State Government to move swiftly towards completing the ongoing road projects in the LGA.

A Lawmaker representing Epe at the Lagos State House of Aseembly, Hon. Abiodun Tobun has lauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his proactive governance following the installation of traffic lights in Ita-Opo, Epe Local Government Area of the State.

In an interview in his constituency over the weekend, Hon Abiodun Tobun told Eko Hot Blog that plans are already underway to install traffic lights at other critical points in the LGA.

The lawmaker also appealed to the State Government to move swiftly towards completing ongoing road construction projects in Epe LGA.

“We have been elected to represent the people, we shall be seen to be representing them well. We are going to make sure there’s Traffic Light at T-Junction, Aiyetoro and Ita-Marun. These are major junctions prone to accidents in lieu of the current road development that is ongoing.”

“I want to appreciate our Governor who is a thinker, talker and doer, for what he and his team are doing. We love him, and he is reciprocating our good gesture. We use this opportunity to urge the Governor and his team especially the Commissioner for Transportation to come to our aid as quickly as possible.”

The era of drivers driving carelessly, he said, would be over as the traffic lights would engender cautious driving and reduce accidents resulting from careless driving.

Speaking further, the Legislator assured that the Phase II of the internal roads construction in Epe is ongoing as the construction company, Messrs Craneburg has moved to site. He stated that while the Governor has promised to complete all ongoing intervention projects in the State, the Construction Company has also promised to move back to Epe to complete the Oke-Oyinbo to Marina road, which is central to the socio-economic development of Epe in many regards.

Hon Abiodun Tobun was speaking at the 8th day Fidau of Alhaja Mulikat Onibon on Sunday 7th March, 2021 at Marina in Epe.
