The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has directed candidates seeking to register for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to enrol for the National Identity Number (NIN).
The board, in a tweet via its official twitter handle on Friday, said the NIN is a “compulsory requirement.”
It also stated that the 2021 UTME and DE will commence on the 8th of April to 15th of May 2021 and both will run concurrently.

“JAMB 2021 UTME /DE REGISTRATION IS OFFICIALLY STARTING ON 8TH OF APRIL TO 15TH OF MAY 2021.
” NIN IS A COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT FOR 2021 UTME/DE REGISTRATION. KINDLY GET YOUR NIN BEFORE THE START OF REGISTRATION EXERCISE,” the tweet read.
Recall that JAMB introduced the NIN to its registration exercise but had to scrap it as a result of the difficulties candidates encountered while trying to enrol.
