2 Men Excrete Out Cocaine In NDLEA Custody

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a significant drug bust, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced on Sunday that two businessmen, Onoh Ebere (49) and Christian Ifeanyi Ogbuji (47), have excreted a total of 193 pellets of cocaine after spending three days in observatory custody.

The suspects were apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja upon their arrival from Uganda via Addis Ababa on an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

According to the NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, both individuals managed businesses in Nigeria but primarily derived their income from drug trafficking.

Their journey involved a visit to Uganda, followed by a crossing into Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where they obtained the illegal drug consignments. They subsequently returned to Abuja, with Lagos as their final destination.

During their time in custody, Onoh Ebere expelled a total of 100 pellets weighing 2.137 kilograms, while Christian Ifeanyi Ogbuji excreted 93 pellets with a gross weight of 1.986 kilograms, all of which were concealed in their stomachs.

In addition to this arrest, the NDLEA conducted raids on two notorious drug joints in Kano metropolis. The operations targeted Zaro bunk on Bama Road in Sabongari and the Sani Abacha indoor stadium. As a result, a total of 160 suspects were apprehended, and various quantities of illicit substances were seized.

The NDLEA also reported the arrest of two individuals, Abubakar Sallau (55) and Nazifi Abdullahi (25), along the Kano-Maiduguri road. The two suspects were found in possession of 5,000 pills of Tramadol 200mg.

Furthermore, Adamu Nagati (30) and Ali Nasiru (35) were apprehended, and a total of 65,200 tablets of Tramadol and Exol-5 were seized from them.

Meanwhile, in the nation’s capital, Abuja, the NDLEA arrested 25 suspects in various raids conducted in Tora Bora, Gwarinpa Village, 3rd Avenue in Gwarinpa, Karamo, Garki Market, Sabongari Bwari, and the New Kucigoro Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp.

In a separate incident, NDLEA operatives frustrated an attempt to smuggle 24 kilograms of cannabis indica hidden in imported used cars from Canada into Lagos.

The illicit substance was discovered during a joint 100% examination of a container at the Prime Connection Bonded Terminal, off Oshodi-Apapa expressway. Two clearing agents associated with the container, Chief G.O. Njokwu and Mr. Christopher Obialor, were arrested in collaboration with the Customs Service.

The NDLEA also intercepted 398 grams of cocaine concealed in native dresses destined for Saudi Arabia during the outward clearance of goods at courier firms.

In Lagos, Fatima Hassan was arrested with 33.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa in Agege, while 44 kilograms of the same substance were recovered from a warehouse belonging to a fleeing drug dealer on Lagos Island.
