Former House of Representative member, Mr. Ned Nwoko, has said no country can survive without harnessing the potentials in the tourism sector.
Nwoko, Chairman of “Project Tourism’’ disclosed this during the formal unveiling and launch of the project organised by Linas International Ltd in collaboration with the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) in Abuja.
According to him, the initiative would project the tourism assets in the country and run profitable projects that would highlight Nigeria’s hospitality culture as well as her rich cultural endowments.
He said: “ Project Tourism is an initiative conceptualised to, among other things, project the rich tourism assts of Nigeria and run profitable projects that will highlight our country’s hospitality culture as well as her rich cultural endowments.”
He added that the “Project Tourism” would focus on four key areas, which include culture village, grassroots sports development, host family scheme and global road show.
He called on stakeholders in the tourism sector to support the initiative as it would boost tourism activities, generate revenue, as well showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritages.
