Former South African archbishop Desmond Tutu has been admitted to a hospital for treatment of what his wife calls a ‘stubborn infection.’
A statement by their joint foundation on Wednesday said the 88-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner had been hospitalised several times for a similar condition over the past few years.
Tutu has been treated for prostate cancer for 15 years and rarely makes public appearances.
The cleric was last seen beaming at Prince Harry and Meghan’s four-month-old baby Archie during a royal visit to Africa in September.
