The National Treasurer, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Otunba Segun Raheem has showered encomium on Education District 3 TG/PS over their excellent outing during the just concluded Education District 3 Annual Merit Awards.

You will recall that education district 3 was the cynosure of all eyes as it shone brilliantly by winning most of the awards available.

Reacting to the district remarkable achievement, Raheem said district 3 was able to make its mark known due to the high standards and professionalism exhibited by schools, students, teachers, officials and administrators from across the Division.

Speaking in an interview with Ekohotblog on the sidelines of Epe Club Inauguration and Induction Ceremony over the weekend in Epe, Segun Raheem, an astute unionist, academician and community leader congratulated the awardees and praised Dr Olufolayimika Ayandele for her passion towards the growth and development of education in Education District 3.

“Let me, first of all felicitate our exceptional and consistent TG/PS, Dr Ayandele who have a passion for education and its promotion.
I also congratulate the awardees for their wonderful accomplishments and the laurels received from among several others within a context of intense competition.

“That Epe carried the day in the Merit Awards didn’t come to some of us as a surprise because we had known before now that teachers generally in Lagos State are unparalleled in terms of excellence nationally.

“However, teachers in this Local Government (Epe) have gone through serious mentoring that put them in a limelight to be able to shine wherever they are posted. This is to say that teachers in Epe and their administrators have arrived”, he stated.

He averred that the essence of an award is to inspire its recipient to work harder, noting that the award was a challenge to all members of the Education Community in Epe to be more industrious, continue waxing stronger and upscale their status within the polity of educators in Education district 3 and Lagos State.

” This will project into bringing up youths that will become useful in the future. When you have very resounding leaders in education bringing up children, before you know it, those children will grow up under the tutelage of very strong supervision. By this, the future of the Epe community and Division at large will be brighter and hopeful”, he stated.

Otunba Segun Raheem said the continuous display of professionalism by stakeholders in the education sector across the Division would cement its academic position in Lagos State.

He also averred that the academic excellence exhibited by teachers and students from the Division would greatly help the urbanization drive of investments such as Lekki Free Trade Zone, Dangote Refinery, Deep Seaport, International Airport etc. The indication of the urbanization he said, was that children must be trained to meet up with workforce standards of both local and international investors being brought to the Division
