The Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education,(MOCPED) Noforija, Epe, Associate Professor Nosiru Olajide Onibon, urged Nigerians particularly Muslim faithful to be more compassionate with the less privileged ones during the month of Ramadan.
Onibon in his Ramadan message to Nigerians particularly members of staff of the College said, Ramadan, is not only about abstinence from sins, food, alcohol, beverages and other pleasure of life but also about love and compassion for others, especially the less privileged.
According to the Provost, “there is no better time than now to be more compassionate with the less privileged ones who are more affected by the lockdown in the country caused by COVID-19 pandemic’.
Onibon reminded them of the uniqueness of this year’s Ramadan and implored them to use the occasion to pray to Almighty Allah to heal the land of all diseases causing an untimely death.
The Provost who prayed that Almighty Allah would preserve “our land beyond the Ramadan and grant us His blessings”. He also implored Nigerians to obey important regulations, pray, and eat individually at home.
In his special prayer for the country, Onibon said, “As we begin fasting in this holy month of Ramadan, I ask Allah by the grandeur of His Majesty and Sacredness of his Glorious Essence to guard and guide us aright, may He forgive our sins – major or minor, great or small, deliberate or done in error and cure the land of COVID -19 virus”.
