Published

on

Seven days away from the end of the calendar year, Cristiano Ronaldo really made his mark in football this year, despite a few setbacks such as the worldwide pandemic (corona virus) which led to about 3 months of football break.

Here are some records the Portuguese has broken in 2020.

Fastest 50 SERIE A goal

Despite the fact that the Portuguese is still yet to win a golden boot in the Italy Seria A, he has been doing well for Juventus and he isn’t reluctant in goals scoring. He became the fastest player to reach 50 goal tally in the Italian Serie A.

He has achieved the feat in just 61 games, breaking the record of Andriy Shevchencko, who achieved it in 68 games for AC Milan. Ronaldo scored 21 goals in his first season followed that up with 31 goals from 33 appearances in next season.

First Portuguese to score a hat-trick in Serie A

Cristiano led the triumph against Cagliari and broke a new record: no Portuguese player had managed to get a hat-trick in a Serie A match. It had to be him who was the first to do it.

It was also his first Serie A hat-trick for Juventus; he had already got one against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in probably his best ever night since moving to Turin.

Most Goals in a Single Season for Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo scored 37 goals for the old ladies In all competition in the 2019/20 season.

Many prolific attackers have adorned the Juventus shirt, including greats like Ian Rush, Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero. Most of them are former Ballon D’or contenders, and some, winners. However, none of them was able to score the number of goals that Ronaldo has succeeded in scoring in one league season.

Eleven consecutive Serie A goal

The Portuguese matched another record when he opened the scoring in the 39th minute during the Italian Serie A football match against SPAL on February 22, 2020 as he equalled the record jointly held by Fabio Quagliarella, who scored in eleven consecutive matches for Sampdoria last season, and Gabriel Batitusta, who did so for Fiorentina in 1994.
