The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to speculation making the rounds that it is planning to expel Adams Oshiomhole, a former National Chairman of the party.
The Aslem Ojezua-led faction of the party in Edo state, refuted the rumour that plans are underway to expel Oshiomhole from the party.
Speaking with The Nation, Ojezua said that the rumour making the rounds that the APC faction has written the national body of the party intimating it of their plans to expel to end Oshiomhole’s membership of the ruling part is untrue.
Ojezua insisted that the APC was yet to meet to review the entire election, adding that such plans are not known to him.
According to Ojezua, “We have not met. We are meeting on Thursday to review the entire situation. That is when we will make our decision known by way of formal briefing. We have not met. We shall meet on Thursday.”
A tweet, allegedly by Ajezua on Tuesday had read, “I have written to the APC National headquarters that I and all the party chairmen down to the ward level have all signed the petition to completely expel Adams Oshiomhole from our great Party.”

Incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defeated his main opponent and candidate of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the last Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.
Prior to the election, Obaseki left the ruling APC for the PDP following a faceoff with his predecessor, Oshiomhole which led to his disqualification by the party due to alleged certificate issues.
