The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday disclosed that 138 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had tested positive to COVID-19.
Director General NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said this during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Briefing in Abuja.
He stated that none of those who tested positive was allowed into the camps.
According to Ihekweazu, 34,785 corps members and members of the camp communities have been tested with 138 turning positive representing 0.4 per cent prevalence.
The NCDC Boss said those who tested positive were either managed at home or in a treatment centre.
He however said the agency’s next concern is how to liaise with stakeholders in the education sector on the safe reopening of universities.
