2021 KAYOKAYO: Princess Surah Olayemi Animasaun Implores Stakeholders To Maintain Values, Creativities And Dynamism Of Kayokayo Festival.

The Chairman of Epe Local Government Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animasaun at the grand final of Kayokayo Festival which took place at Epe Theatre has implored Olu-Epe High Chiefs, Organising Committee members, sons and sundries of Epe to staunchly key into maintenance of Kayokayo Celebrations.

Princess Animasaun identified that the festival has historical potential which has diverse Cultural attractions useful for the promotion of tourism in Epe. That Kayokayo equally spotlight the religion as a melting pot of peaceful co-existence, attention and tranquility in Epe Division.

In her address, she affirmed that Kayokayo has since it’s inception of Celebrations has a veritable platform promoting local economy, addressing some of the socio-economic challenges in Epe community, that most significantly, Kayokayo has been propagating rich Cultural heritage of Eko-Epe settlers.

Princess Animasaun emphasized that; ” many people of the society often take their culture for granted due to ignorance in identifying the potential of society and art of the people.”

She added that, ” whether tangible or intangible, Kayokayo Celebrations has determined how members of a society think and define the direction of their actions and world outlook .”

At the occasion, stage play demonstrating the Travai of King Kosoko from Lagos to Epe was showcased by a student group of theatre arts from Michael Otedola College of Primary Education ( MOCOPED ).

Among the important dignitaries who attended the historic occasion are HRM, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Ogunsanwo ALARA of Ilara, Hon (Dr.) Olusegun Agbaje the Oluomo of Epe Land, Hon. Biodun Tobun (LSHS), Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji (Speaker emeritus), Hon. Wale Raji (FHR), Chief Gabadeen and Associate Professor Tasiru Onibon.
