EDITOR’S PICK

The simultaneous celebrations of the Eebi Festival and the Kilajolu Masquerade Festival on the 15th of April 2022 should be described as a happy conjunction of events lending weight to the beatitude on His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Alaseshoyin Of Noforija Kingdom.

The former, by design, is a signature festival of the Epe Kingdom and, by extension, the Noforija Kingdom; whereas the latter is a celebration of one of the iconic deities of the land.

What a moment in the annals of the Noforija Kingdom in the quest to narrate the beautiful story of our community from the prism of culture!

The retinue of our royal fathers in the ancient town of Noforija Kingdom, who came to celebrate the iconic festival with HRM, bears testimony to their determination and commitment to preserving our cultural heritage.

The conscientious efforts of our royal fathers, as the custodians of our traditional values, propagating our rich and diverse culture should not go unnoticed. Rather, this should be a prompt for the younger generation to build on the foundation being laid as we collectively ensure that part of our history is not extant.

While our traditional rulers are the front-liners, it is also incumbent upon us members of the public, sons and daughters of Noforija, to continue the narration and the propagation of the rich cultural heritage of the Epe Division that will continuously place our community on a global map.

The significant presence and the engagement of our youths in the celebration is a further testament that our culture is alive and well.

Epe Division, as we know, abounds with a rich cultural gallery, which, if industriously harnessed, would place the division firmly on the launchpad to social and economic prosperity.

It was quite a memorable day as guests tasted the Noforija hospitality.

The lineup of professional caterers, their scrumptious delicacies and the music of Benbela Fuji music are signposts to the success of the occasion.
