Shettima, however, had returned to the country to represent his principal at the signing of the peace accord by presidential candidates in the 2023 elections.
Giving details on why the former governor of Lagos State travelled, a member of the APC presidential campaign council, Ayo Oyalowo told journalists on Friday that the presidential hopeful had to depart Nigeria as he was not allowed to rest in the country.
Oyalowo, who spoke on ARISE TV Programme, said Tinubu could not rest in Lagos, and they could not allow him to rest also in Abuja, hence he was advised to go abroad.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in London. He cannot rest in Lagos, they will not let him rest. He came to Abuja most of the time, and they will still not let him rest,” Oyalowo said.
According to him, Tinubu works for an average of 20 hours from 24 hours each day, yet people won’t allow him to take much rest.
“So reasonable people thought he should leave the country because people will not let him rest since the campaign is coming soon.
