EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor of Rivers State and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday boasted that he is the only candidate that is feared by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the PDP should go and sleep if the opposition party gives him its ticket to contest the 2023 Presidential election.

Wike, who spoke at a meeting with PDP delegates in Lagos, also lambasted the Federal Government for the insecurity in the land, saying the only project the APC-led government bequeathed to Nigeria is insecurity.

The PDP presidential candidate was in company of Governor Seyi Makinde, former Governors Ayo Fayose of Ekiti, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe and Donald Duke of Cross Rivers State, among others.

Wike said the insecurity and economic hardship facing Nigerians was due to the lack of idea by the ruling party, saying his focus if elected will firstly be to secure lives and properties as security is the backbone of any thriving economy.

He said, “My own is talk and do, even the Vice President Osibanjo named me Mr. Project, there is insecurity everywhere, the only project the Federal Government has given to us is killing left, right and center.”

Governor wike also criticized the Minister of State for Education for picking the presidential form despite that many students are out of school due to the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

“It is really shameful, although I heard him and others have retracted , schools have shut down and you are rushing to pick form, no conscience,” he added.

Wike said he should be considered for the party’s ticket, for his unwavering commitment to the party since he joined.

Wike said he should be considered for the party’s ticket, for his unwavering commitment to the party since he joined.

“As a committed party member since 1998, I have been in this party and I will never leave, I appreciate what this party has done for me and my way of repaying the party is by continuing to serve.

“It is not about how long or how far, it is about who has the capacity to face APC and will not run away as usual.

“All of you know how I faced Federal Government in Rivers, if you give me this ticket, go home and sleep, because I will show APC pepper, when they heard my name, they started praying I don’t win the ticket, if we lose this election, we can as well forget about recollecting power.”
