EKO HOT BLOG reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it will come up with a consensus and agreeable presidential candidate for the 2023 election at the appropriate time.
The party made this known via a statement by the National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John Akpanudoehede, in Abuja.
It was gathered that the statement by the APC National Secretary was in reaction to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recent allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari had a self-succession plan.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Buhari’s tenure will come to a close in 2023 when he must have completed another four years in office.
However, Akpanudoehede stated that the APC would not allow individual ambitions to disrupt Buhari’s administration ahead of the 2023 presidential election in the country.

He added that, unlike the opposition PDP, the ruling APC was a disciplined party, noting that the former was just being haunted by its past.
Akpanudoehede said, “After our congresses and the National Convention, we will shock them [PDP] by bringing a consensus and an agreeable candidate that will fly the flag of the party come 2023.
“APC has no third term agenda like PDP. What we are doing now is to stabilise the party and not allow individual ambitions to derail President Buhari’s administration,” the APC National Secretary stated.
