EKO HOT BLOG gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on Thursday.
Shehu confirmed their meeting in a post on his Twitter page on Thursday night.
He wrote: “Meeting Jonathan I just ran into President Goodluck Jonathan at the Italian National Day event this evening at the Fraser Suites Hotel, Abuja. It was warm and affable.”
This online media recalls that Jonathan had travelled to Italy days ago ahead of the Presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jonathan’s aides had said the former President travelled out of the country over the weekend and is in Lake Como in Italy.
He said Jonathan has nothing to do with surreptitious plots by some APC members to draft him into the contest for the presidential primaries of the party.
The aide explained that Jonathan is attending the 2022 high-level advisory board meeting of the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East, ECAM Council.

He said the presence of Jonathan in Italy shows that he detests sponsors of the political schemings, said to be the handiwork of fifth columnists from the northern part of the country.
“There is no truth to all the noise you are hearing in the media,” he said.
