Some members of the PDP were present in Niger when Atiku met with IBB.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts marked their presence at the crucial meeting between former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in Minna, Niger State, on Friday (today).
This online media platform understands Atiku arrived at the Minna International Airport around 12:30 pm today in a long convoy and drove straight to the Uphill residence of the former military leader.
Former Governors, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu (Niger State) and Emeka Ihedioha (Imo State) were seen in photographs taken from the closed-door meeting.
Also, the director general of the PDP presidential campaign organisation, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State was present.
IBB is expected at the meeting to wade into the crisis rocking the nation’s main opposition party.
Five aggrieved governors of the party, otherwise known as G-5 are expected to be at the meeting for the reconciliation move.
The PDP meeting with IBB is coming barely three days after the presidential candidate of the rival All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his team visited the hilltop residence of the former military leader in Minna.
