EKO HOT BLOG early reported that the National Advisory Committee set up by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to choose a running mate for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has recommended Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as the best candidate.
This online media reports that the National Chairman of the Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, had earlier set up the committee after Atiku wrote the party to help choose his running mate.
Ayu had urged the panel to come up with a name who will run on a joint ticket with Atiku in the 2023 Presidential election between Thursday and Friday.
Below are the full names of members of the committee:
- Ambassador Umaru Damagun (Deputy National Chairman, North) – Chairman of the committee
- Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue
- Governor Aminu Tambuwal Sokoto
- Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi
- Former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu
- Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido
- Former Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke
- Former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko
- Former Senate President, David Mark
- Minority leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu
- Senator Philip Aduda
