Peter Obi Tells IPOB, Bandits, What To Expect If He Becomes President

According to Obi, the agitators need to be brought to the table for discussions but bandits are criminals that need to be dealt with accordingly as offenders.

This online media platform gathered the presidential hopeful made the submission on Wednesday during an interview on Arise TV’s prime time programme.

In his words, “For those who are agitating, and disagreeing, you first start by dialogue. No matter who they are, I will discuss with everybody so that you will know when to throw a line and say we’ve tried this and it’s not working.

Asked if he would include bandits in the dialogue, Obi replied: “they are not among people I will discuss with”.

“Bandits are bandits, criminals are criminals. I’m going to deal with it decisively,” he said.

“Those who want to be discussed with will be discussed with. Those who are agitating, those who feel unhappy, my job is to bring them to the table.”

Earlier, the LP candidate opined that Nigeria needs to be restructured. He however added that constitutional reform which the country needs would take a lot of time.

To this end, Obi promised not to wait for constitutional reforms before implementing programmes such as poverty alleviation, tackling insecurity and other things that will be beneficial to the citizens.

He said: “We need to restructure the country, it is for the good of the country. It will be constitutional restructuring but that will take time. There’s one you need to deal with. You don’t need to wait for that kind of restructuring before pulling people out of poverty.
