EKO HOT BLOG reports that the political group, Battalions for Jagaban Initiative, has pledged to mobilise over 40 million votes for the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, in the forthcoming general election in 2023.
BAJI, through its President, Chris Onuh, officially declared the commencement of its campaign for Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, following its certification by the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups.
The statement by the group, on Tuesday, read, “Today, we made a pledge to mobilise over 40 million votes across the nation for Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima.
“We made this known at our secretariat at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, following our conviction in Tinubu’s candidacy and his capacity to make Nigeria better than it is today.
“Earlier, we have informed and instructed our over 40 million members scattered across the country to get their Permanent Voters Cards as well as their APC membership cards in preparation for the forthcoming elections.”
The statement read further, “In like manner, our founder, Amos Omotade-Sparks, admonished Nigerian electorate to quit being wishful about politics and their desires, as this will not help the country.
“He added that Nigerians ought to get practical and serious about the future, and most importantly the future of the unborn children.
“BAJI, as an organisation, believes that Jagaban is the ‘main man’ and the most capable hand for the restructuring and the betterment of Nigeria as the organisation acknowledges Jagaban’s capacity to bring nation-builders together. And the organisation is ready to give the most capable hands all the support there is.
“Stemming from our founder’s revelation on May 18, 2022, just before the APC’s primary election, we have a strong conviction that God has a hand in Tinubu’s candidacy.
“From the revelation, it was made known to him that God has an unfulfilled covenant with Tinubu to rule Nigeria before the Jagaban pushes up the daisies.”
Omotade-Sparks added that one “might dislike someone or desire another over him but when God chooses, for reasons best known to Him, no one can change it.”
He also said that “his astuteness is based on a similar revelation he had on January 20, 2019, when he saw the President Muhammadu Buhari, emerging victorious in the general election of that year, which saw him return to the office for a second term.”
He added, “God chooses leaders to bless a nation as well as he chooses some to punish a nation. However, I am very sure God has chosen Tinubu for the betterment of Nigeria and I will play my role to make sure that comes to light.”
The founder also commented on the conspiracy surrounding the Muslim-Muslim ticket, stating that productive arguments ought to be raised based on the candidates’ capabilities and capacities, relying on their glorious antecedents rather than raising flimsy and watery arguments and points based on the same faith.
He added that in a democratic community, and with Nigeria as a case study, it was impossible and unheard of that a country that recognises and gives room for several religious practices like Nigeria, legislated to outlaw Christianity or any other religion.
In addition, the statement read, “BAJI also prides itself of the members of its parent organisation, who are strategically and structurally positioned and spread out across the 774 local government areas in the 36 states, including the FCT, Abuja.
“We believe that Tinubu and Shettima, who are fondly known to the organisation as ‘BATIMA’, Nigeria’s finest superheroes,’ stand as the best hands to take Nigeria out of this economic and societal misery it is currently bedevilled with.
