Eko Hot Blog reports that the supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, popularly known as ‘Obidients’, have been offended by some comments made by Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Speaking at the inauguration of members of the Edo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council management committee on Monday, Obaseki had dismissed the chances of Obi in the 2023 presidential election.
He stated that the LP presidential candidate’s supporters will run off steam.
“I don’t see any other person on the horizon. People who say they are Obidient, let them all be because they’ll run out of steam.
“We know how to manage elections. They can’t even form their campaign council not to talk about having a timetable for the election. This election is ours to lose and by the grace of God, we will not lose it,” the Edo governor said.
Obaseki’s comments have unsurprisingly generated reactions from the combative supporters of Obi.
Many of them hit back, saying they will not run out of steam.
