National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued his tacit 2023 Presidential Campaign by distributing branded bags of rice and other food items to Kano residents.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, an Instagram user with the moniker- @mansurah_isah of Today’s Life Foundation uploaded pictures of the event with a caption appreciating Tinubu’s foundation for the food items.
It is not clear if the donation was made by the former Lagos State Governor or by loyalists who have continued to drum support for his highly anticipated candidacy for the highest office in the land when President Muhammadu Buhari completes his second term in office.
However, in the light of recent events, the distribution of food items to Kano residents may not be unconnected to Asiwaju’s tacit moves to strengthen ties with the Northern region ahead of the polls in 2023.
Recall that Tinubu had last month celebrated his 69th birthday in Kano State, shortly after gifting the sum of N50m to victims of the fire outbreak which razed the central market in Katsina State.
Recently, Tinubu has also been to Kaduna state, which, together with Kano and Katsina are among the states with the largest voting populations in the country.
With the month of Ramadan set to commence tomorrow, April 13, 2021, there is also the likelihood that Asiwaju’s gesture could be an expression of love and benevolence as encapsulated by the season, which is usually capped by festivities after the one month period of fasting.
The donation also follows Tinubu’s donation of foodstuffs and other items to orphanages in Lagos and Ogun.
