EKO HOT BLOG reports that a Lagos State House of Assembly Epe Constituency I aspirant, and All Progressive Congress, APC, Chieftains in Epe Local Government, Hon Segun Agbaje, has affirmed his unflinching support towards actualising the aspiration of all candidates contesting on the platform of the party come 2023.

Agbaje, who was a two-time former Epe Local Government Chairman said this in an interview with EKO HOT BLOG during the get-together party of The Progressive Group in Epe.

“We are fully committed to the 2023 election and ensuring victory for all party candidates, that is our stand,” he said.

He further stressed that the get-together which holds annually was significant in showing gratitude to the teeming supporters of the group for their resilience, dedication and commitment to the exponential growth of the party.

“The celebration is an annual event to celebrate with all members of our party, APC and our followers in the Progressive group which comprises Itesiwaju, Idera Dee, The Ideal, and APC Women and Youth forum.

“This is meant to deepen exceptional political ideologies for the growth of the party, our local and state governments and the nation at large,” he stated.

Reflecting on his position in the last All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos State House of Assembly for Epe Constituency I, Agbaje disclosed that he was aggrieved by some irregularities during the process and had sought redress from the Appeal Committee of the party which mandated that fresh primaries should be conducted.

He added that as a loyal party man, fighting for the rights and privileges of the people was paramount to him and that they were committed to the evolution of the party irrespective of controversial political circumstances.

“I did not lose the APC primaries for your correction and record purpose. The primaries’ guidelines of our Party are so clear and in a case where the electoral officials did not follow the guidelines, we complained from the on-set only to be told to write a petition against all electoral manipulations.

“The fact that the election was held does not mean I cannot get redress. Moreso the appeal committee agreed and made a verdict that the election is not in line with the laid down procedures. We were told to prepare for fresh primaries.

“I’m a party man, I and my people are not ready or thinking of leaving the party but we would fight for our rights and benefits due to party loyalists like us,” he stated.

On his part, the Chairman of the Progressives, Mr Shakiru Adebayo Jagbojagbo, while assuring of the group’s active participation in the APC, stressed that the gathering was an avenue to unite the youths and secure their political aspirations in the nearest future.

Also, Mr Borokini Basit who said that the group has been in existence for over seven years disclosed that it was created due to the enviable structure of the APC in Epe right from the Alliance for Democracy, AD, era.
