2025 Budget Signals Nigeria’s Economic Recovery – Former Transport Minister

Prince Ademola Adegoroye, former Minister of State for Transportation, has expressed optimism about President Bola Tinubu’s 2025 budget proposal, describing it as a strategic plan to tackle Nigeria’s economic and security challenges.

Speaking at the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Akure branch’s annual dinner, Adegoroye noted that the N49.7 trillion budget proposal marks a significant increase from the N28.8 trillion 2024 budget. He emphasized its potential to drive infrastructural development and enhance national security.

“The proposed budget will address critical economic and security issues. President Tinubu’s assurance of improved security will boost investor confidence and set Nigeria on the path to recovery,” Adegoroye stated.

The former minister commended the NBA Akure branch for its dedication to professional excellence, urging legal practitioners to uphold ethics and discharge their duties with integrity and the fear of God.

As a special highlight of the event, Adegoroye launched the NBA Akure branch football team, recently victorious in a competition against the NBA Ikeja branch in Lagos. He pledged ongoing support, including sponsorship and equipment for future tournaments.

In recognition of his contributions, the team was renamed “Prince Adegoroye Babes.”

The dinner brought together notable figures, including judges, former NBA chairmen, branch executives, and friends and family of Adegoroye. Former NBA Akure chairman, Mr. Rotimi Olorunfemi, described the annual dinner as an important tradition for lawyers to connect and celebrate beyond their professional duties.

Adegoroye reaffirmed his commitment to empowering young lawyers, encouraging them to learn from their senior counterparts to enrich their practice and strengthen the legal profession in Nigeria.

The event highlighted the intersection of leadership, community, and professional development, with Adegoroye’s contributions reflecting his dedication to advancing both the legal and economic sectors.
