2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Messi Out As Argentina Unveil Squad For Chile, Colombia clash

Lionel Messi will miss Argentina’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia due to injury, with Paulo Dybala being recalled to coach Lionel Scaloni’s squad on Monday.

Messi has been sidelined for club side Inter Miami since sustaining an ankle injury during Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Colombia in the Copa America final.

Roma forward Dybala, who hasn’t played for Argentina since March 2023, could have the chance to add to his 38 caps in Messi’s absence.

Scaloni’s squad will host Chile on September 6, followed by a match against Colombia in Barranquilla four days later.
