Ekohotblog reports that Jonathan Agbaje, a 27-year-old man, has been arrested for defiling a 15-year-old girl in Lagos.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Agbaje pleaded not guilty to the accusations against him when he was brought before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
ASP Ikem Uko, the prosecution, informed the court that the defendant committed the crimes on October 2, at 4:20 p.m., in Magbon, Badagry, Lagos.
According to Uko, the defendant reportedly led the victim into his room and without her consent invaded her vagina with his fingers.
“Agbaje also forcefully had an unlawful carnal knowledge of the child without her consent.
“The offences contravene Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,’’ he said.
Delivering judgment, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until November 16 for mention.
