As we continue to become advance in age, our bones will likely become weaker. This is a natural phenomenon that may be unavoidable. However, some persons have weak bones from a young age. Medical experts believe that not eating a balanced diet, smoking, or going through weight loss surgery can cause weak bones.
However, you should know that certain medical conditions cause weak bones. This is why you must see the doctor if you suddenly feel weakness, pains, or aches in your bones.
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some conditions that could slowly weaken your bones.
1. Rheumatoid arthritis. This is when your body’s immune system attacks your bones and joints often in the hands and feet. The most common symptoms of this condition include swelling or pains in the joints, tiredness, or feeling feverish. There are medical treatments employed for this condition like medications or surgery
2. Celiac disease. Celiac disease is a condition in which the body is unable to process a protein found in wheat and other grains called gluten. If you have this condition and still eat these foods, your immune system begins to attack your small intestine. Some persons do not know that they have this disease, so they continue to eat foods containing gluten and their bones slowly become weaker
3. Hyperthyroidism. In this case, the thyroid gland makes too much of the hormones the body uses for energy.
This can cause tiredness, sleeplessness, or shakiness. It also increases bone loss and if the body can’t replace it fast enough, it leads to osteoporosis or bone damage.
