According to an eyewitness who was present at the scene, the confrontation began about 9:00 a.m., when parents of Muslim students arrived at the scene to inquire why their children were not allowed to enter the school as ordered by the state government the day before, but the overzealous Christians stationed at the school’s gate told the parents to leave with their children.
When one of the parents attempted to force his way through the fence, a Christian pushed him, causing him to fall to the ground, igniting the crisis that has resulted in the injuries of at least three people.
Police were sent to the scene of the incident right away and were able to get it under control.
In a memo signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital, the Kwara State Government declared the reopening of the ten schools that were recently closed over the hijaab issue on Tuesday.
