35-Year-Old Emmanuel Urhobocha Commits Suicide in Sango-Ota
A 35-year-old man, Emmanuel Urhobocha, has reportedly died by suicide in his apartment on Alafia Street, Sango-Ota, in the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed that the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
EKO HOT BLOG recalls that this event follows the recent suicide of a 32-year-old man, Olúwaṣeun Shorinola, who took his own life in the Kémta area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on August 28, 2024.

According to the police spokesperson, Odutola Omolola, Urhobocha’s roommate, Obabiyi David, reported to the Sango-Ota Police Division that Urhobocha had been acting erratically.
EKDavid also claimed that Urhobocha had attacked him with a knife, causing injuries before he managed to escape.
A police team from the Sango-Ota division was sent to investigate the report. However, upon arrival, they found the apartment door locked from the inside. After forcing entry, they discovered Urhobocha lying face down in the apartment.

Odutola stated, “Urhobocha was found deceased with a container of insecticide next to his body. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. His body has been moved to the morgue for an autopsy, and the case is under investigation.”
