Developing a healthy attitude is one self-therapy that has been proven to be helpful in different ways, for instance; studies have shown that people who have a healthy self-concept or attitude about themselves usually live longer, and they suffer a low risk of depression and are often regarded to be more attractive and accommodative.
The idea of building one’s confidence is a concept that involves adopting certain practices, especially the ones that are geared towards increasing the quality of one’s life.
1. Try something new, most especially something you have a phobia for
You never can tell what you can truly do, unless you try it. The idea of undertaking a task, especially the one you fear most will increase your confidence level when you eventually succeed in the execution of that task. For instance, when a person who has a phobia of public speaking eventually addresses a crowd for a speech, such a person will most likely overcome the phobia of speaking to a large group of people. The more you commit yourself to handling tasks concerning the things you fear, the more your confidence will increase in undertaking other tasks.
2. Dress smartly and equally adopt a hygienic lifestyle
The reason why most persons eventually lose their self-confidence when in public is because of their dress style. The idea of dressing shabbily, especially against the standard of a ceremony or function you attend, or wearing untidy clothes can drastically reduce one’s self-esteem. To avoid being intimidated in this area, always dress to suit the requirement or standard of the function you plan to attend and make sure your outfit is equally tidy and free from obvious stains.
3. Give yourself some credit for every accomplishment you have made
When you seem to accomplish something remarkable by yourself, most especially from your effort, it becomes pivotal to accord yourself some accolades and self-recommendation. Giving positive reviews about your ability and achievement will reinforce the subconscious realm of the mind with the confidence to strive towards more accomplishments.
4. Be grateful
Having an attitude of gratitude is another self-induced therapy that will increase your self-confidence. Being grateful for the life and advantage you have over others will make you appreciate life more.
