Sleep paralysis has to do with an inability to move one’s body while sleeping. This often happens when you are in a state of partial consciousness and can be highly frightening.
People who experience sleep paralysis often liken it to attacks or spiritual attacks but in actuality, studies have shown otherwise.

1. Insomnia
Sleeplessness or difficulties falling asleep may be responsible for the sleep paralysis you often experience. If you have insomnia, the few times you fall asleep, there is a high chance that you will experience paralysis. This is one of the known risk factors.
2. Family history of sleep paralysis
If someone in your lineage either father or mother usually experiences sleep paralysis, there is also a high risk of chance that you would experience it in the course of your life. The reason is not known but this is one of the major causes of the condition.
3. Disrupted Sleep Patterns
Such as shift in sleeping patterns due to changes at workplace or jet lag may also be responsible for the sleep paralysis you often experience. If you notice that sleep Paralysis happens due to shifts in sleep patterns, then you should work hard enough to maintain a steady sleeping pattern.
4. Narcolepsy
A condition that causes someone to suddenly fall asleep may also be the reason you experience sleep Paralysis.
In this case, handling narcolepsy will certainly take care of sleep paralysis in such a person.
