Most people are aware that high blood pressure is one of the most serious diseases taking many lives in our society.
But most us do not know that having a blood pressure that is too low is also very dangerous. If your blood pressure is currently lower than 90 mmHg for systolic (top reading) and 60 mmHg for diastolic ( bottom reading) your life might be in danger.

1. Pregnancy
Some changes in pregnancy may cause the blood vessels to expand rapidly which causes your blood pressure to drop unexpectedly. This tends to occurs often during you’re first 24 weeks of pregnancy, it is expected to return to normal after giving birth.
2. Conditions caused by hormonal abnormalities
Certain medical conditions like Addison’s disease affects the production and functioning of the hormones and this may cause low blood pressure. Low blood sugar and diabetes may cause low blood pressure in some cases.
3. Dehydration
This occurs when the body is not getting enough water to carry out normal functions. This leads to the reduction in blood volume accompanied by low blood pressure. Vomiting, strenuous exercise and severe diarrhea etc can cause dehydration
4. Blood loss
People who are involved in accidents or have internal injury may lose lots of blood which may reduce blood volume and cause sudden drop in blood pressure levels.
