Not sleeping well at night or over-stressing yourself can make you wake up with a slight headache, however, it might become a thing of concern when it becomes a regular phenomenon. Knowing the cause of this issue will make it easier to find the right solution.
1. Insomnia
You might be suffering from this condition if you stay awake, feel very restless or wake up suddenly at night. Insomnia disrupts your sleep which can make you feel headaches early in the morning. You can treat insomnia by taking medications, psychotherapy or a combination of both.
2. Mental disorders
According to research, people who have migraines are 2.5 times more likely to be depressed than those who are not. Depression and anxiety can also lead to sleeplessness (insomnia) which will then result in morning headaches.
Using medications, talking to a therapist or a combination of both can help solve mental health issues hence stopping morning headaches.
3. Sleep apnea or snoring
Snoring at night might interrupt your sleep which may result in early morning headaches in many people. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder which can make you stop breathing at times throughout the night, you might then feel headaches for about 30 minutes after waking up. Consult a doctor for special equipment like Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) which can help treat sleep apnea
