4 Signs Of Heart Failure You Must Look Out For

EDITOR’S PICK

The heart is at the hub of all bodily functions and plays an important role in blood circulation. As a result, the heart is such a vital organ that a person cannot live a second without it, and as such, it is prone to a variety of problems such as heart attacks, heart disorders, and a variety of other concerns.

  1. Ascites, or abdominal dilation, is one of the symptoms you may notice before total heart failure strikes. The reason for this is that due to the heart’s poor performance, the body will begin to accumulate fluid in an unhealthy manner. So, whenever your abdomen begins to become larger and larger, make an appointment with a doctor for a thorough examination.
  2. Edema refers to the swelling of the legs, ankles, or feet. It occurs because the heart aids or assists in the removal of waste materials or surplus water from the body; however, when it fails to do so, this fluid builds up in the body, causing swelling in the lower limbs.

  3. Shortness of breath during activity, such as when doing something that does not require much strain or when lying down. If you start experiencing inexplicable shortness of breath, it could be a sign of a heart problem.

  4. Rapid or irregular heartbeats should also not be taken for granted.
