A 42-year-old man, Confidence Samuel, has been remanded in a custodial centre for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl and threatening the life of his victim’s mother.
Chief magistrate Doja Ojo sitting at an Igbosere Chief Magistrates Court ruled that the accused person be remanded pending the receipt of legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
According to Daily Trust, The accused person is facing two separate charges before the same court which were filed by Zone 2, Police Headquarters, Lagos.
In the first charge, Samuel was alleged to have assaulted the 13-year-old girl by removing her cloths in a sitting room and climbing her with an intent to rape her.

He was alleged to have also defiled the victim in her mother’s sitting room by having unlawful carnal knowledge without her consent.
The alleged offence was said to have been committed on December 29, 2019 at No. 10, Lewis Facile Street, Thomas Estate, Ajah, Lagos.
In the second charge, Samuel and others at large were alleged to have threatened the mother of the girl with violence and conducted themselves in a manner likely to breach peace.
Police prosecutor Inspector Jimoh Joseph also alleged that the accused person threatened his victim’s mother by saying he would discharge loaded firearms on her and also threatened to eliminate her.
No plea was taken from the accused person and further hearing has been fixed for February 19.
