More than 460 illegal immigrants, including some with serious criminal records, were arrested in the United States during the early days of President Donald Trump’s administration.

According to a report by Fox News, these arrests were carried out by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Between midnight on January 21 and 9 a.m. on January 22, a span of 33 hours, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) team arrested over 460 individuals. These individuals included people who had been involved in various crimes such as sexual assault, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, drug-related offenses, weapons violations, resisting arrest, and domestic violence.

The people arrested came from many different countries, including Afghanistan, Angola, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Senegal, and Venezuela.

The arrests were made in multiple states across the U.S., including Illinois, Utah, California, Minnesota, New York, Florida, and Maryland.

President Donald Trump

President Trump had made it a priority during his campaign to remove illegal immigrants from the U.S., particularly those with criminal backgrounds. After taking office, he issued an executive order to fulfill this promise. This large-scale operation by ICE was one of the first steps in carrying out Trump’s pledge to deport millions of undocumented immigrants living in the country.

The arrests highlight the administration’s focus on addressing illegal immigration and enforcing stricter immigration laws.

This effort is part of a larger plan to crack down on individuals who are in the U.S. without proper documentation, especially those who may pose a threat to public safety due to their criminal activities.
