“Never in my life did I imagine that I would be wishing you a happy birthday in your absence, let alone posthumously,” he wrote. “Your passing has left a void in my heart and our lives that nothing can fill.”
Yeye Sijuade Akanke Anomo was renowned for her kindness, grace, and unwavering commitment to serving humanity. Describing her as “far more than a wife,” Otunba Anomo said:
“You were my anchor, my confidant, my greatest motivator, and the irreplaceable soul of our family. Your warmth and compassion touched countless lives.”
To honor her memory and preserve her legacy, Otunba Anomo announced the establishment of the Akanke Foundation, a charitable initiative inspired by her selflessness. The foundation is dedicated to supporting the less privileged, providing scholarships for indigent students, assisting widows and the elderly, and spearheading community-focused interventions.
A key focus of the foundation is raising awareness and providing care for cancer warriors, a cause that was dear to Yeye Sijuade’s heart.
According to Otunba Anomo, the foundation is already assisting five cancer warriors, including a survivor whose story inspires hope and resilience.
“Through the Akanke Foundation, your love and light continue to guide us. You remain with us, touching lives just as you always did,” he remarked.
Community members and leaders have commended the Chairman’s tribute and the establishment of the foundation.
“Yeye Sijuade was a pillar of compassion and an epitome of grace. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on through the Akanke Foundation,” said Hon. Jayesinmi Abiodun, Chief of Staff to the Chairman.
Another resident, Mrs. Funmilayo Balogun, shared:
“She was a mother to many of us. This foundation is a beautiful way to honor her and continue her legacy of kindness.”
The tribute concluded with a poignant and emotional vow from the Chairman:
“Happy posthumous birthday, my queen, my angel, my everything. I love you endlessly and miss you beyond words. Until the day we are reunited, I will carry your love and memory with me always.”
