1. Peptic Ulcers
This is a serious wound or sore in the stomach lining, they do not usually cause direct severe pain but can be a leading cause of recurring pain or discomfort in the chest. The good thing is that certain medications that are available in pharmacy shops like antacids can help relieve the pain caused by peptic ulcers.
2. Asthma
This is a breathing disorder that is characterized by an Inflammation of the airways thus causing chest pain or even in some cases a severe heart ache that could turn fatal if not immediately attended to. Other symptoms or signs of asthma includes; shortness of breath, coughing, and wheezing. Most times asthma can cause an attack that can be fatal if not immediately addressed, that is why most asthmatic individuals are advised to go around with their inhalers. But if you are asthmatic, chest pain or discomfort should not come as a surprise to you.
3. Collapsed Lung
when there is a buildup of air in the space between the lungs and rubs, a lung can collapse. When this happens, it can lead to severe and sudden chest pain when breathing and if someone has a collapsed lung, he or she might also experience shortness of breath, tiredness and an abnormal/high heart rate.
4. Heart attack
Chest pain or sudden heart ache is actually one of the primary symptoms of heart attack. If you are about having a heart attack, you might experience a sudden chest pain that you might have never experienced before. This is not something to take for granted especially if you are mid aged or older.
5. Pulmonary Embolism
This is a life-threatening condition that arises when a blood clot gets trapped in an artery feeding blood to the lungs. It is characterized by a sudden chest pain and breathing difficulty that if not handled or attended to immediately can lead to death of a person.
When is the Best Time to See A Doctor?
Chest pains that are due to something very serious are often short and also followed by unconsciousness especially if it’s related to heart failure or heart attack.
