5 Chronic Illnesses That Can Be Transmitted Through Air

EDITOR’S PICK:

Some infections can be transmitted simply by breathing. These are known as airborne illnesses. People with certain conditions can transfer airborne diseases when they cough, sneeze, or speak, spilling nasal and throat fluids into the air. Some viruses and bacteria are able to fly and land on other individuals or surfaces.

When you inhale harmful germs from the air, they take up residence within you. Additionally, you can acquire germs by touching a surface that harbors them and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Because these infections are airborne, they are difficult to control.

In this article on EKO HOT BLOG we would be looking at some Common illnesses that can be transmitted through air.

1. The common cold

Most adults suffer from two or three colds annually. Children are typically more susceptible. The common cold is the leading cause of school and job absenteeism. There are numerous viruses that can cause a cold, but the most common one is the rhinovirus.

2. Influenza

The majority of people have experienced influenza. It spreads rapidly since it is contagious approximately one day before the onset of symptoms. It is contagious for an additional 5 to 7 days. If you have a compromised immune system for any reason, you can spread the disease for longer.

There are several flu strains, and they are constantly evolving. This makes it tough for your immune system to develop.

3. Chickenpox

The varicella-zoster virus is what causes chickenpox. If you have chickenpox, you can spread it for two days before the rash appears. It takes up to 21 days for the sickness to develop following exposure.

Most individuals contract chickenpox just once, after which the virus becomes dormant. Should the virus resurface later in life, you will develop shingles, a painful skin ailment. If you have never had chickenpox, you can catch it from a person who has shingles.

4. Whooping cough

This respiratory disease produces airway edema, resulting in a chronic hacking cough. It is highly contagious for almost two weeks after coughing begins.
