Dermatologists know the importance of taking care of our skin, and they will advise you to avoid certain skin-damaging habits. According to Healthline, some habits can damage the cells of our skin, causing them to malfunction.
Some of the things we do every day can contribute to healthy or unhealthy skin.
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some of these common habits that could damage your skin.
1. Picking Pimples
Some of us have the habit of picking our pimples. This will only damage your skin and cause dark spots. Picking your pimples will not get rid of the problem until you get to the root cause. It’s better to apply pimple remover on your skin and wash them away than to burst your skin to remove them.
2. Scratching The Skin Hard
Some of us seriously scratch our skin whenever it’s itching because we derive pleasure from it. This is not good for our skin because it will only cause skin irritation. Whenever your skin is itching, just put some ice blocks in a clean towel and place them on your skin. Allow this to stay for a few minutes to relieve the itching.
3. Taking Excessive Hot Baths
Bathing with hot water is something some people enjoy, especially in cold weather. However, if you stay for a long time under a hot shower, this can damage the texture of your skin.
The water you use to bathe during the cold weather should be moderately warm and avoid bathing with it all the time. Switching between cold and lukewarm water can help regulate your mood.
4. Exposing The Skin To The Hot Sun
Some people expose their skin to the hot sun. The ultraviolet rays from the sun don’t pose any risk to them. This can gradually cause skin cancer or premature aging.
Wearing clothes that will cover your skin and using sunglasses to avoid sun exposure is very important to maintain healthy skin.
5. Not Washing Your Face Regularly
Some people only wash their faces when they bathe in the morning. Washing your face about three times a day can improve the smoothness of your skin. It will remove oil and dirt that clog your skin pores, which are likely to cause pimples.
