Black tea contains beneficial compounds that help the body fight disease. There are numerous health benefits and antioxidants in black tea, making it a popular beverage around the world.
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some health benefits of drinking black tea.
1. Promotes the health of the heart.
Several antioxidants, including theaflavins and flavonoids, are found in black tea, which helps to keep the heart and blood vessels healthy by lowering the risk of coronary heart disease and ischemic heart disease.
Researchers found that daily consumption of 9 grams of black tea reduced levels of triglycerides and blood glucose, two major risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
2. Contains cancer-fighting properties
As a source of health-promoting flavonoids, such as catechin, epicatechin, kaempferol, and myricetin, black tea may reduce the risk of certain types of cancer.
Researchers have discovered a link between a lower risk of advanced prostate cancer and a higher intake of flavonoids found in black tea.
3. Reduces the chance of developing type 2 diabetes.
Those who drink black tea on a regular basis may have a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes by at least 70 per cent.
4. Prevents heart attacks and strokes.
People who drank the equivalent of three cups of black tea a day had a 21% lower risk of having an ischemic stroke, according to a new study.
5. Relieves stomach cramps
To ease the symptoms of an upset stomach and diarrhoea, one cup of black tea may be all that is needed. There is an astringent effect on the intestinal lining due to the tannin in it, which may help reduce intestinal inflammation.
Drinking it with calcium-rich foods will reduce its absorption, so it’s best avoided if you want to reap the benefits.
