5 Signs Of Glaucoma That Should Not Be Overlooked

The eyes are very important to the human body. They serve as the light of the body and as such without them, you won’t be able to do a lot of things including engaging in the activities you engage in now.

Without the eyes or with the eyes having issues, one can be rightly referred to as a less privileged individual, so there is every need to take your eyes very seriously.

The most dangerous eye problem that can seriously affect the eyes is Glaucoma. Glaucoma is a group of eye infections that affect the optic nerve; the nerve that sends visual signals to the brain, glaucoma if not attended to would eventually lead to blindness.

1. Redness In The Eyes; this is one sign of glaucoma that should not be taken for granted. The reason is that when the eye is having serious issues, one of the initial signs is eye redness for no just cause.

2. Seeing Halos Around Lights; is another sign of glaucoma that should be taken very seriously. When you start seeing lights or coloured rings around bright lights, know that your eye is developing something very severe and vision-threatening. This is one of the most serious if not the most serious sign of glaucoma or cataract of which the two places are a threat to one’s vision.

3. Temporary Vision Loss; if you are suffering from glaucoma that has gotten to an advanced stage, you might occasionally lose your vision. This is temporary and can signal a serious advancement of glaucoma or optic nerve damage.

4. Eye Pain; this is usually severe and once you start noticing it, rush to the doctor or opthalmologist to complain about it for proper treatment or a checkup to know how your eyes are doing. Glaucoma comes with severe eye pain alongside eye redness and vision issues.

5. Upset Stomach or Vomiting; when a person is suffering from glaucoma, there is every chance of having an upset stomach or Vomiting if you’re suffering from glaucoma. So once you start noticing all the aforementioned signs plus nausea or vomiting, rush to the hospital for treatment.
